There’s a lot more to choosing the right kind of fall protection system for your crew than choosing a harness and a connecting device.

This is especially true when using a self-retracting lifeline (SRL). Because they have arresting capabilities, an SRL can lock up quickly—the shorter the fall, the greater chance of survival. But…you have to accurately calculate fall clearance for the fall protection to work.
